A lakeside village along Highway 50, Paddock Lake is about nine miles from Twin Lakes, and we handle remodels, decks, roofs and more there.
Our work in Paddock Lake
Paddock Lake is a compact village of about three square miles, built around the lake it is named for, with Hooker Lake next door. Many homes sit near the water, and that affects everything from where a deck can go to how a yard drains. We start each Paddock Lake job with a walk around the lot, then draw up a free design that fits it.
Kitchens, bathrooms, basements, decks, roofs, windows, siding, painting, flooring and tile are all part of what we do. You get a free written estimate, one crew from first measurement to final sweep, and a contractor who is licensed, insured and bonded. Military members, seniors, teachers, first responders and people with disabilities are eligible for discounts.
The area
Paddock Lake is a Kenosha County village incorporated in 1960, when the hamlet separated from Salem Township. The Paddock family settled in 1838 between what are now Paddock and Hooker Lakes. A channel dredged in 1929 created Evergreen Isle, and ice was cut from both lakes beginning around 1900. State Highway 50 became four lanes in 1987. The 2020 Census counted 2,919 residents and 1,289 housing units, with 971 of 1,159 occupied homes owner-occupied. About a third of the village is on municipal water.
Projects
Local conditions shape the work. Here is what we pay attention to in Paddock Lake.
The village publishes a deck and porch checklist for permit applications. We build the plan around it so the design and the paperwork match.
The village also has an addition and remodel checklist. For homes close to the lakes, we check flood-prone mapping and setbacks before drawing plans.
In older homes, plumbing and wiring behind the walls are often the surprise. We look before cabinets and tile are ordered.
These exterior jobs are often done together, so flashing, trim and the seams around openings get sorted out once rather than three times.
Every trade
One crew handles the whole list, so a kitchen and a new roof can share one schedule.
Good to know
Every town has its own rules. Here is what we found for Paddock Lake.
The Village of Paddock Lake's Planning and Building Department handles design review, zoning and building permits, and the Building Inspector is the contact for inspections. Forms and checklists for additions, remodels, decks and porches are on the village website. Village Hall is at 6969 236th Avenue, (262) 843-2713. We walk you through the paperwork.
Paddock Lake has its own flood ordinance, Chapter 33 of the village code. In flood-prone areas, building, enlarging or moving a structure needs a separate permit, and work costing more than half a building's market value counts as a substantial improvement with extra flood protection rules. Check your lot before planning an addition.
About a third of the village is on municipal water, mostly the east side of the lake, Whitetail Ridge and the Highway 50 businesses. The village has no plans to connect the rest. Homes off the system typically use private wells, and the county offers well-water testing, with kits at Village Hall. If you rely on a well, a water test is a sensible step before plumbing work.

Start with Village Hall at (262) 843-2713. The village website has the building permit form and project checklists for additions, remodels, and decks and porches, and the Building Inspector reviews zoning and building details. Fees and rules can change, so confirm them for your project. We walk you through the steps and help with the plans.
It can, if your property is inside a mapped flood hazard area. The village's flood chapter treats work costing more than half a building's market value as a substantial improvement, and that brings flood-resistant construction rules. Ask Village Hall whether your lot is mapped before you plan a large addition or a basement rebuild.
About a third of the village is on municipal water: most homes on the east side of the lake, Whitetail Ridge and the Highway 50 businesses. The village says it has no plans to connect the rest. Call Village Hall to confirm your address, since it matters for kitchen and bath plumbing plans.
